The Role

Spatialist is looking for a Design Researcher to lead investigation into interface, experience and enrichment across our launch product platform. This is a challenging job looking to combine skills, processes and inquiry as we find best solutions to tough end user problems. This role is well suited for a curious and motivated design researcher who is passionate about great design, and validating these designs against actual real-world end user behaviors.

Who we are looking for:

You are a highly motivated designer with great artistic skills and recent product interface and user experience work. Ideally within technology driven ventures, either startups or corporates with 2-3 years of history.

Either Bali-Based in-office/hybrid, or, remote. All remote team members must be located in South-East Asia time zone. With us, you have the option to stay remote or relocate to Bali.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

Must Haves: 

• REQUIRED: Must have hands-on experience using FIGMA.

• Dashboard Experience.

• App Experience.

•  Strong understanding of product design framework/methodology -able to match engineering timelines and workflow.

• Knowledge of wireframe and prototyping tools is required - able to concept, then design.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating your thoughts and presenting ideas and concepts clearly. 

• Passionate about other Products and innovation to conduct research in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.

• Strong interpersonal skills -able to communicate clearly.

• Strong problems solving skills is essential.

• A desire to create, bring to life unique designs, craft memorable products, to build, and see your work succeed.

UIX Specific Skills:

• Conduct end-user UI/UX requirement gatherings, analysis, designs, wireframe testing, to achieve the desired results expected by the business, within the budget and project schedules.

• Striving to understand conversational interactions; it’s a new field and we won’t expect you to know it all, but being resourceful and hungry helps

• Collaborating with product management and engineering to define and implement interaction solutions for product refinement and an overall rich experience

• Developing user flows, UI specs and mock-ups as needed, Conceptualising original user flows that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex UX roadblocks

• Creating engaging design prototypes, micro-interactions and transitions, Conducting usability tests.

• Mapping out the different user journeys in more detail, Storytelling chops, bringing these user stories and insights to life,

• Keeping abreast of industry trends, and update the team on your learnings

QA Specific Skills:

• ETL, Data testing, Integration testing, MDM Testing skills

• Server-side coding experience on any object-oriented programming languages (Java, Golang, etc) or any script languages, plus Back-End: Node JS, MongoDB, API’s.

• Exposure to web technologies: HTTP, XML, REST, HTML, plus points for building Javascript webapps with cross-browser compatibility 

• Hands on experience with executing automation tests and using of automation tools.

• Knowledge and experience in automated testing frameworks/tools such as Cypress, Selenium + Appium (tricentis)

  , Cucumber (or simular) is preferred.

• Your documentation skills are strong, and you design to make them stronger. Your working knowledge of technical and business english is great.

Desired qualities/qualifications:

• Lean or Agile design principles and processes

• Present insights and rally the team to co-create solutions, leading by example;

• Driven by data and UX research, designing  interactions, icons, models, look & feel, and overall interface design.

• Craft graphic solutions, building up from the existing brand book, and product design to deliver validated design solutions to our product teams.

• Presenting and defending designs and key deliverables to the team and clients, referencing user psychology, concept and usability testing and interaction models in doing so

• Willing to jump into projects and situations with ambiguous details in multiple domains, and make sense of the chaos

• Hungry, with a willingness to go after knowledge and learning to the best of your ability

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Work alongside project teams and other UX and Product designers.

• Support requirement gathering, user research and usability testing, ensuring the best outcomes.

• Work with stakeholders and POs to validate ideas, champion great design practices.

• Lead by design: establish accomplishable objectives and KPIs from user perspective.

• Drive and support the creation, review and subsequent refinement of all wireframes, prototypes, user flows, visual and interaction design.

• Lead Engineering Team support with Design Resources, asset libraries and component engineering.

• Participate in and drive design reviews.

• Create strong UI designs (Visual Design) for web and, potentially, mobile applications.

We're looking for someone who:

• Excited to design interfaces for Ai dashboards, the Spatial Web, and more.

• Self-taught or Degree (we care about skills, not paper :-) )

• Design complete graphic user interface elements i.e. entire app environment design, including: layout, flow/motion, menus, tabs and widgets.
  ¨    Create original library of graphic designs.
  ¨    Conduct layout adjustments based on users’ feedback.
  ¨    Identify areas of design improvement, drive and facilitate changes.
  ¨    Identify and troubleshoot UI/UX issues.
  ¨    Own responsibility area; define and lead design development efforts.
  ¨    Prepare test cases and perform unit, systems and integration tests.

• A get-it-done attitude. For example: if the project needs an interface element, you are willing to create it. If there is boring work, you are willing, if you need to learn a new solution, you are excited to. WE WANT CURIOUS TECHNOLOGISTS WHO WANT TO BUILD, LEARN AND GROW.

• Has an extremely high bar for quality software - you can move fast and ship scalable code with the help of your team.

You'll stand out if you have:

• Competency and motivation to tackle complex problems in a fast-paced environment without compromising the quality of the work.

• Engineer Support: Documentation, Testing Rollout, UI-Kits: make sure it works on multiple platforms.

• Strong Self-organization, Ability to multi-task and manage tasks with varying priorities - the ability to coordinate with the team, work within planning, deadlines & deliveries.

• Work-focused verbal and written communication skills and high attention to detail

• AWS: (Very) Comfortable with AWS, CI/CD knowledge/experience.
