The Role

Spatialist is looking for a Design Engineer to lead a team building SaaS Content Management System for the Spatial Web. We're pre-launch and in the product Engineering phase, looking for curious engineers to join and help build the next internet : the Spatial Web.

Who we are looking for:

You are a highly motivated graphic designer with great artistic skills and recent product interface and user experience work. Ideally within technology driven ventures, either startups or corporates with 2-3 years of history.

Location:

Either Bali-Based in-office/hybrid, or, remote. All remote team members must be located in South-East Asia time zone. With us, you have the option to stay remote or relocate to Bali.

Experience Details:

Medium (Experienced Mid-Level wanting to become senior)

Medium Level = Able to break an assignment down into sections yourself, and deliver sections on-time / as agreed.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

Must Haves: 

• REQUIRED: Must have hands-on experience using FIGMA.

• Dashboard Experience.

• App Experience.

• Marcom (marketing Materials) Experience.

• Blend of user experience + communicate UI design to Engineers.

• Team Player with product owner, developers, test teams.

• Portfolio showcasing UI/Visual design work, web & mobile projects

• 3 years of experience in Product Design with emphasis on UI design.

Nice to Haves:

• Knowledge of Interaction Design, Usability, Prototyping.

• Substantial experience of designing responsive web and mobile apps.

• FIGMA working knowledge of key design and prototyping tools, Principal, or equivalent.

• Communication skills. Ability to work and deliver quality in a dynamic environment prone to change.

• Bonus: Design Systems and experience applying and maturing a Design system in your work.

Desired qualities/qualifications:

• Lean or Agile design principles and processes

• Enterprise projects (big clients) involving data visualisation + dashboards.

• Level of detail - can see important details, naturally delivering pixel-perfect designs.

• Working with development teams towards accurate implementation and translation of UX/UI aspects.

• Positive can-do attitude with a drive for continuous improvement.

• Bonus: A good grasp of service design principles, blueprint tools and systems thinking

  
  

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Work alongside project teams and other UX and Product designers.

• Support requirement gathering, user research and usability testing, ensuring the best outcomes.

• Work with stakeholders and POs to validate ideas, champion great design practices.

• Lead by design: establish accomplishable objectives and KPIs from user perspective.

• Drive and support the creation, review and subsequent refinement of all wireframes, prototypes, user flows, visual and interaction design.

• Lead Engineering Team support with Design Resources, asset libraries and component engineering.

• Participate in and drive design reviews.

• Create strong UI designs (Visual Design) for web and, potentially, mobile applications.

  
  

We're looking for someone who:

• Excited to design interfaces for Ai dashboards, the Spatial Web, and more.

• Self-taught or Degree (we care about skills, not paper :-) )

• Clearly describe your abilities per language, system, and platform (we'll ask).

• Genuine curiosity with intuition about architecture, interface, systems, and structure designs.

• Likes fast-paced environments where you get to work directly with customers and make decisions, all while learning about cutting-edge technologies.

• A get-it-done attitude. For example: if the project needs an interface element, you are willing to create it. If there is boring work, you are willing, if you need to learn a new solution, you are excited to. WE WANT CURIOUS TECHNOLOGISTS WHO WANT TO BUILD, LEARN AND GROW.

• Has an extremely high bar for quality software - you can move fast and ship scalable code with the help of your team.

  
  

You'll stand out if you have:

• Competency and motivation to tackle complex problems in a fast-paced environment without compromising the quality of the work.

• Engineer Support: Documentation, Testing Rollout, UI-Kits: make sure it works on multiple platforms.

• Strong Self-organization, Ability to multi-task and manage tasks with varying priorities - the ability to coordinate with the team, work within planning, deadlines & deliveries.

• Work-focused verbal and written communication skills and high attention to detail

• AWS: (Very) Comfortable with AWS, CI/CD knowledge/experience.

BONUS POINTS: Experience with Commerce transactions, Processing payments within Apps, Wallets, Profiles, AI Agent Engines, Edge Compute Results, Sensors, AI, AMI, ML, Meta, and Spatial Web Content.
